Honey collected from the unique Manuka tree (Leptospermum scoparium) in New Zealand contains highly effective antibacterial active ingredients. The UMF™ logo printed on the product is always followed by a numerical value indicating the antibacterial activity strength. Only Manuka honey with an antibacterial activity strength of 5 or above can bear this registered trademark. The higher the value of the logo, the stronger the antibacterial ability.
